Educated and brought up in the home counties, Janet studied Art and Photography in the 1980's at the Berkshire College of Art and Design.  Her first picture was exhibited at Reading Art Gallery when she was fourteen years old.

She moved to Devon at twenty years old and has continued her interest in art ever since.

Janet has exhibited in numerous galleries. Specialising in pastels she finds this medium is so pure and the colour so intense.  Her training in photography gives her a strong empathy with light and a three dimensional element is evident in her work.
